Tribute to Fred & Ginger

Here's another short animation using the Plexus Plug-in with After Effects, this time paying homage to the brilliant dance skills of Hollywood legends, Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers.

There are 42 mask paths, each manually keyframed.
The soundtrack is from the 1949 movie 'The Barkleys of Broadway'.. The tapping and all the choreography is classic Fred & Ginger....

Here's an animation over some footage I shot for a recent car launch job. It's the first time I've combined VCP Optical Flares with Plexus in After Effects.

The music is Sospiro by Bardo State

Flame effects

Been experimenting with creating flame effects on moving objects. Here's a little test movie using some footage of models I shot at Clothes Show in December.

The audio is from Buddha Lounge IX album - the artiste is Djuma Soundsystem..

An experiment with a 3D Object

One of the pleasures of the holiday period is being able to mess around and experiment with the software I work with, without feeling guilty about doing it in 'working' hours.  I guess anyone who's self-employed will understand this well.

In Trapcode Form 2 it's now possible to import 3D 'object' files into After Effects and add particles to their vertices. So, I thought I would create a very simple 3D object (a sphere) in Cinema 4D, export it as an .obj file and play around with it in After Effects to see what I could produce..

The movie below is my tinkering. It took about a day to produce and render. The music is from a really lovely album called 'Floating' by Ketil Bjørnstad, a Norweigian Classical/Jazz Pianist.  I've been looking for something to animate to this music since I first heard the track six months ago..

The render below obviously isn't as good as the 32-bit HD version I mastered, but hopefully you'll get the idea...

Enjoy the music anyway...

New Website

Finally got around to sorting out a new website, one that can be seen on all browsers, iphones and ipads (hopefully!).

Guess I now need to start filling it up with stuff.  Come back soon and I should have some more bits posted....

Happy Christmas!
